Miku
It's great, and I have no reason to use Amarok (which I hated) anymore. YAY!!
So bye bye, Rhythmbox! It was nice knowing you, in the few days I had you since I installed the Ubuntu update :)
(Also, I don't use iTunes anymore, since I now use Banshee to edit my song tags. WIN. Now I no longer rely on Apple for ANYTHING. BWAHAHA!)

ALSO!

I finally managed to get:
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies AND Android Karenina!!!! :D
Both were only TEN DOLLARS IN TOTAL. SO. COMPLETELY. WIN. I love discounts!!
And the US price listed on the back was like $12 for one of them. And then I imagined how much it would have cost for both at non-discount price and I cried. For like, ten seconds until I remembered I had both of them in my hands. HEHEHE. :D

I will read them after I do my Poly Sci readings (Yes, I am taking Poly Sci

FFXIII-2 is ....

Happy!
The graphics are kind of...meh, in comparison to its predecessor.

BUT HOLY MACKEREL IS THE MUSIC AMAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!!!
I CANNOT STRESS THIS FACT ENOUGH. THE OST IS AN ACHIEVEMENT.

Okay, the soundtrack features both Origa AND KOKIA. HOW IS THIS AMAZING WIN EVEN POSSIBLE????
Square Enix's music is too amazing. That's all there is to it.

Did I even mention there is both a jazz AND metal version of the Chocobo theme in this game? I totally lol'd when I heard the latter, XDDD.

This is totally disjointed since I'm about to turn on my PS3 in like, ten seconds.
Yeah. ^_^
Takarazuka
Okay, Hankyuu. I've been pissed at you before, and I'm gonna be pissed at you again.
I know I've almost fallen out of the loop with all things Takarazuka since I entered university (which I regret), but there is something I just have to say:

WHAT.
THE.
HELL.

Seriously, what is UP with this "demi-top star" thing you've got going on in Moon Troupe? Like, REALLY?
I know Masaki comes out on top with this arrangement (which I agree with), but what is with Mirio? I know they're both popular, but I don't like this wishy-washiness going on here ONE BIT.

Sheesh. It's like Tsukigumi always gets the weird arrangements.
First there was no top musumeyaku. Then they freaking TRIPLE CASTED Rudolph in Elisabeth '09. Really, Hankyuu? REALLY?

But it's not ALL bad.
They're making Teru a top star! YAY~~~~!
Sure, there are people with more senority within Soragumi that could do it, but I LIKE TERU SO I DON'T CARE ^_^

Well, that was rather short and unfocused.
I'm kind of writing two blogs at the same time, so maybe that's why...
ef a tale of memories
Oh man, I can't believe this semseter is almost over. WOW.
And then, oh man, I can't believe my workload. Part of it is my own doing, though.

I really should be working on my 2000 word (which isn't that much, I guess) paper about American conservative media AND my Japanese report, but I need to give my brain a break. For like, five minutes.

A few minutes ago, I was just chilling with some SNSD. Time Machine is such a good song~~ AND THEN I realized I hadn't even finished a quarter of my paper yet. UGH.
This paper wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to sift through so many journal articles. I got like six books though, so maybe this is (again) a problem of my own making. Haha.

I need to stop watching SHINee's new video. LIKE, SERIOUSLY. Taemin is too distracting, XD.

Yes. This is random. I need to go back to work now....=_=

Reflections on 2011

Trucy/Minuki-chan
What a wild, crazy year...
I graduated from high school, I started university, I turned18 this year...O_o

But in the world of politics? SO MUCH CRAZIER.
Kim Jong Il, Osama Bin Laden, Gadhaffi...lots of bad people were wiped off the face of the earth.
Regimes were toppled in Egypt and Libya (as to whether their new government will be better remains to be seen.)
America kept getting crazier and crazier...from SOPA to the circus of the GOP.

And then there's Occupy, which has my respect. Looking forward to seeing what they'll be doing in the new year. :D

A wild, crazy year to be sure. Hopefully the world doesn't end just yet though. The NDP and the Liberals still need to pick new party leaders, AND THERE'S STILL THE GOP PRIMARY!!!! >:O
Yes.

In short, looking forward to 2012.
My new years' resolution: to eat healthier, most likely. I snack far too much. Also, to learn Hangul and more Japanese. :D
Thanks to everyone for the wonderful memories and I look forward to your continued company in the new year! ^_^

This is me talking about North Korea.

Kino
When I first heard the news of Kim Jong Il's death, it was through a breaking news update from my msnbc app.
I didn't even believe it at first. My first thought was that it had to be a faulty source, I found it so unbelievably surreal.

But it was true. After seeing the footage of the mourning in North Korea on RT, Al Jazeera, BBC and a whole bunch of other places, I realized that this was REALLY happening.

Most of the speculation regarding the transition has mostly focused on DPRK's nuclear program, but I'm MUCH more interested as to whether the human rights violations are going to stop or not. Not a whole lot is known about Kim Jong Un's approval of his father's policies and whether he will change the government or economic systems.

But what do I think of Kim Jong Un?
He's puppet leader material, for sure. No WAY is that military who runs the gulags and the work camps going to let such a n00b take over the world's fourth or fifth largest army, even if he IS descended from Kim Il Sung. Plus, he's pretty darned fat. Like, fat like a BEAR. I swear, he's probably going to have a heart attack when he gets older >_>

Now, onto Kim Jong Il.
A lot of foreign news organizations (as well as satirists) like to portray him as this weird, crazy short wacko, but a lot of foreign diplomats are saying that he's actually very well-briefed and intelligent. Plus, the literacy rate in North Korea is crazy high (this is also the case in countries such as Cuba and Libya).
HOWEVER.
His extravagant lifestyle in the face of widespread famine is completely and utterly shameful. Not to mention the gulags. UGH. But am I happy he's dead? I'm not too sure. Yes, he was a terrible person who mistreated his people, but I highly doubt his death will bring any changes to the political system of North Korea. The political elite are likely just as corrupt as he is - and I highly doubt that they'd be willing to change any of the distribution policies for the disadvantaged portions of society.
Not to mention closing the gulags. NO WAY are they doing that T_T

Yes.
I'll be monitoring this situation really closely. Thank goodness I have the Guardian app; it does excellent stories.
I'm never relying on CNN every again >:D

Brian Jacques died. Last February.

T____________T

Gosh, I have such fond memories of his books D:
I still own Mattimeo, and look back fondly at my memories of reading Redwall as a child.
Literary genius? YES.

The animated series was very well executed as well.

Even if I'm no longer a child, I will miss his work immensely. :___;

This is why Canada rocks.

Aha!

I HIGHLY doubt you will ever see anything of this nature in America's federal government. Why?
Because Canadians are a lot more cool than we're given credit for :p
Well, the CBC and Rick Mercer are awesome in general, though :D

Gosh, watching me makes me really miss Stephane Dion, XDDDDD
And Iggy. :/
AND JACK. ;________;

I do believe the whole field of potential presidential candidates is INCREDIBLY WORRISOME.

Thankfully, the situation has improved somewhat by Herman Cain somewhat-drawing out of the race...for now. In my opinion, he had no business being there. He's completely unqualified AS WELL AS stupid (Ubeki-beki-beki-stan-stan anyone?). During the 2008 election, pundits were making a whole lot fo fuss as to whether Obama had enough experience, BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS GUY, FOX? =_=

Of course, Fox News is the mouthpiece of the GOP, so you can't really expect anything of that lot. In Fox's eyes, a teacher is evil for saying that Santa doesn't exist. SERIOUSLY. I saw the news story on Youtube.

Moving on...

Mitt Romney is just plain unreliable, although his intelligence is kind of a plus (smarter than Cain is considered a plus in this race....how sad.) Michelle Bachmann and Rick Santorum are both in the crazy religious pack...I'm Catholic and I don't know why people even like these two.

And Newt Gingrich. I remember seeing this video on MSNBC that was comparing Gingrich to WINSTON CHURCHILL. LIKE, WTF. He's such a disgusting person. Putting aside the infidelity and the GINORMOUS Tiffany's bill, that lobbying record is INCREDIBLY BAD. He's demonstrated time and time again that he's NOT on the side of the middle class, and yet he's LEADING IN THE POLLS. I really hope this guy gets knocked down.

And did you see him talking about child labour? CAN YOU BELIEVE HIM?! =_= Saying that children should work in the schools as "janitorial assistants", taking away unionized jobs. What a disgusting fellow. If children don't have money so they can do their best in school, the government should HELP them, not tell them to get a job. Isn't that what people pay their taxes for? Yeesh. And I thought the Canadian education system needed work. (It still does though.)

I think the only really unobjectional GOP candidate is Jon Huntsman. He's smart, and he's better than everyone else BY FAR in terms of foreign policy (and he knows Mandarin!), but no one has ever heard of him because the news organizations like to focus on the candidates that tend to say the crazier stuff. Why? Because this brings higher ratings, and rather than focusing on substantive content, the goal of mainstream news organizations is to make MONEY. (I actually researched this in detail as my topic for my Political Science term paper.)

As for Ron Paul, half of what he says is incredibly logical (stopping the war on drugs) and half of it is just as crazy as the others (letting a man without health insurance die, because that's what "freedom" is.) Again, you will RARELY see anyone talking about Ron Paul, because the other candidates are a lot more fun to watch. Or rather, they provide a lot more material for SNL. >:]

But yeah. This is all rather disjointed, because my next lecture is in less than an hour.

I HATE university waiting lists.

Reading.
I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HAAAAAAATEEEEEE THEEEMMMM!!!!!!!!! T_______T

SRSLY. I want entry into Intro to Linguistics NAO! >:(
Although there's a better chance I will get into Introduction to Communications, still. T_T
*UNHAPPY FACE*

My enrolment date SUCKED. It was like, a day before general enrollment. It's based on whether you have a scholarship (which I don't) and partly on senority (third and fourth years get more priority than first and second, which makes sense BUT STILL). You know what I had to do when two of my choices were wait listed and one was full?

I enrolled in Archaeology.

SERIOUSLY. ARCHAEOLOGY.

Now, that might sound super interesting and awesome, but you actually aren't digging anything out of the ground. It's just an equally exciting version of anthropology. (This can be adjusted to how much you like these two subjects. I'm just not cut out for this stuff.) It would be kind of awesome if we could go to Alberta and the badlands and dig stuff up, but such things are not possible....

Oh well. Let's hope everything works out. At least I have three for-sure enrolled courses so I can still get my student-priced bus pass. >:D
